We Love Metal

About Red Star Ironworks

Based in Hailey, Idaho, Red Star Ironworks is dedicated to the design and fabrication of high-quality, custom architectural metalwork. With a focus on craftsmanship and collaboration, we work closely with clients, architects, and builders to create pieces that are both enduring and thoughtfully integrated into their environments.

Founded in 1999 by Peter Lambert—originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a city with a deep steelworking heritage—Red Star Ironworks was born from a lifelong interest in art, sculpture, blacksmithing, and fabrication. Over the past two decades, the company has evolved from a small artisan studio into a respected name in architectural ironwork, with completed projects in both public and private spaces across the United States and internationally.

In 2011, Red Star expanded with a second workshop in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, led by longtime collaborator Zachary Ennis. The team there has contributed to some of our most ambitious work, enriching the architectural landscape of this historic city.

In 2021, Red Star Ironworks relocated to Hailey, Idaho, where Peter and Zachary continue to lead the studio. Their vision is rooted in long-term relationships, steady growth, and meaningful contributions to the built environment in Sun Valley and beyond.

At Red Star, we approach each project with a deep respect for the creative process and a commitment to quality. Every piece we produce is the result of skilled hands, thoughtful design, and an appreciation for the material itself.

We welcome conversations about new work. Please feel free to reach out—we’d love to hear more about your project.
